Ladyshivers
As a young adult, ladyshiver's daughter described her
as a "steel magnolia". Always the strong one, single mom, executive,
woman in charge.
Discovering
BDSM, ladyshivers found a welcome release through submission.
A
member of NLA-Dallas, she was also co-founder of The House of Darkwatch,
a BDSM group based in Oklahoma City, and co-developer of "Prophett's
Toy Bag", which provided her the opportunity to vend unique and interesting
toys and clothing at BDSM events throughout the Midwest, including such
venues as Beyond Vanilla, Ms World Leather, South Plains Leatherfest,
International Ms Leather, Different Strokes Lifestyles, all in Dallas,
Houston's HPEP Ball, Kansas City's Return To AHS, Beat Me In St. Louis,
and Spanksgiving, along with New Mexico Black Leather Weekend, Leatherfest
Colorado, and Dreams To Reality. She is honored to have taught her processing
pain techniques at many of these venues.
She
is currently developing "Ladyshiver's Closet", a boutique of unique
and unusual fetish wear and accessories for the budget minded shopper,
with an emphasis on plus sizes.

Presentation:
Body Image In The BDSM World Or: “Good Things Come In BIG Boxes!”
Addressing the issues of being a "person of size" in the BDSM world.
This workshop will cover topics such as the emotional impact of being
"nekkid" in public, as well as physical, such as choosing a play station
that will accommodate a person of size.
Other topics for discussion: * Are there more plus-sized people in the
scene, or are they just more visible? * The advantages of being a "heavyweight"
in scene. * "I may not be perfect, but parts of me are EXCELLENT!" *
How to showcase your assets. * Issues surrounding a Dominant "helping"
a submissive lose weight. * How to develop esteem in a partner with
body issues.

Processing
Pain: A submissive's perspective - In our world, we play with pain.
Some people call it intense sensation" others label it "pain" - but
regardless of what label we use - it is often a major component in our
BDSM scenes. How we use it, the different kinds of pain or sensations
that we use, the reasons that we do it and other aspects that affect
both the top introducing the different sensations and the bottom reacting
to them, is an important component for the development of a successful
interaction or scene. This presentation will focus on different types
of pain and how they are processed in scene. Discussion will focus on
the importance of communication, what factors may affect the ability
to process pain successfully and how to know when enough is enough.
This is planned more as a workshop than a classroom. Audience participation
is encouraged as we share experiences from tops and bottoms alike, and
learn new and hopefully better ways to use this seldom discussed aspect
of our lifestyle in creative and safe ways.
